This grassroots cause, joined by an ever growing number, was started by a small business owner who wanted a better future for Ohio. Citizens United to End Ohio's Estate Tax is the ballot issue political action committee formed to run the campaign.

Ohio's estate tax is levied at rates of 5%-7% on taxable estates over a mere $338,333. It generates less than 1% of total state and local revenues.

The petition now in circulation will give the General Assembly a last chance to end the estate tax. If the General Assembly fails to act, a second petition will be circulated to put the issue on the ballot for the people to decide.
