News   Dayton Tea Party: We Changed the Debate in Washington
"For the first time in our nation's history a political movement had a direct and substantial impact on the fiscal debate in Washington. Though the spending cuts are only cuts in the rate of growth, not real reductions in spending, it's a start.

For the first time in our nation's history a political movement had a direct and substantial impact on the fiscal debate in Washington. Though the spending cuts were not significant enough, the cuts are a good starting point.

Without the Tea Party Movement, this debate over our nation's spending problem would have never happened. Like many times before, our nation's debt would have been increased without any debate or concern from Washington. This is not the case anymore and will not be in the future.

The message is clear: Washington has a spending problem, not a revenue problem.

We applaud those members in Congress who stood with the Tea Party Movement and said "NO" to out of control government spending and deficits as far as the eyes can see.

This is just the beginning of what the Tea Party Movement is and will be. We proved it can be done and must be done in order to preserve this great nation."
