Dayton Tea Party Founder Response

The past couple of days has been an eye opener for Americans across the the United States. With the several statements that have been said by President Barack Obama, U.S. House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi, U.S. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, and others, labeling those in the Dayton Tea Party as part of the mob. We have been labeled nazis, right-wing extremists, Republican National Committee cronies, insurance company employees and FoxNews.

When I began the Dayton Tea Party, it was not for any of these groups or any of these groups' causes. I did it because I was fed up with what my government has done and is doing. In the U.S. Constitution, under the 1ST AMENDMENT, i'm given the right to petition my government. I'm an average American citizen who just chose to stand up and voice opposition. The opposition that is a liberty given to me by many American deaths and sacrifices to perserve and defend the U.S. Constitution.

To remind those officials of that remarkable document that they swore an oath to defend says: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

The statements that have been said lately about members of the Dayton Tea Party are insulting and sad. These comments prove how those in Washington truly feel about the American people and especially those American citizens who chose to exercise their liberty. We were given our liberties from our ancestors who fought and died to give all Americans those rights. Many in Washington have forgotten that and no longer defend it.

The Dayton Tea Party promotes liberty and freedom. We are currently organizing community Liberty Groups throughout the Miami Valley to support these ideals. The Dayton Tea Party advocates fiscal responsibility, smaller government, support for the free markets and small business, and respect for the U.S. Constitution. We do not support hate, but rather advocate U.S. liberty and freedom.

We must educate our family, friends, and neighbors about our goals. These our imperative times and YOU must stand up.

Rob,

I and many like me are with you 100%. I called Mike Turner's office and asked about any upcoming town hall meetings. His staff stated they were working on it. Will you organize something like the TEA parties in the event we actually get a shot at a town hall?

Thanks

Hi Rob:

Outstanding response!

The events of this week are disturbing.

First, on Tuesday, the White House initiates and promotes a website asking for information on those who oppose the administration. This appears to be in violation of the Privacy Act of 1974. In other words, they are asking people to turn over those citizens who disagree with Executive and Legislative branches of the Federal government.

Then Thursday, actions by representatives of the SEIU toward elderly and a minority gentlemen, at town hall meetings in Tampa, FL and St. Louis, MO, sent these men to the hospital. No doubt provoked by the Commander-in-Chief and senior Congressional members, when they said to "hit back twice as hard" against opposition of the health care takeover earlier in the day.

These actions, implicitly endorsed by the Chief Executive, are un-American and intolerable. They clearly demonstrate this administration's contempt for the First Amendment of the Constitution.

Recent attacks on Liberty have led me to join your group of patriots today. I wish you the best in your efforts. BTW, I just found out about the 9.12.2009 March on DC asking for all Tea Party organizations to rally at the Capitol. I will be going to DC on September 12 with a carload of friends. I urge you to spread the word to fellow like-minded citizens.

Dear Friends and Family,

For three days I have been struggling for words to describe my feelings about participating in the March on our nation’s Capitol in Washington D.C. on September 12, 2009. I continue to struggle with this so I will just start. Note that this is the first protest my wife and I have ever participated in.

First off, I made close to 2,000,000 new friends from all over America that, I know in my heart, are willing to put their life on the line for my liberty. I will do the same for them. I pledge my life, my assets and my character to them. I love them all and they have my greatest admiration and respect.

They came from small and big towns in every state. Men and women. Adults, youth and children from all ethnic groups. Some carried signs to demonstrate their frustration. Some were silent. Some were vocal. One thing I can guarantee you is that for every one of us that was there, hundreds more wanted to be there. To those I say, do not be discouraged. Stay informed. Continue to attend local tea and liberty group meetings. Keep it clean and honest and reject those politicians and individuals that try to benefit from our movement.

Americans are plenty angry about the direction our country is heading. We will get it back, I assure you. It will take a continued commitment to call our employees on the carpet.

November, 2010, will represent a new beginning … the day we begin to fire congressmen and senators and replace them with men and women who believe the Constitution of the United States is a carved-in-stone set of principles and values. These principles and values are our greatest guarantee of liberty and protection against the tyrannical pursuits of our enemies.

About two years ago, after much careful research, I came to the conclusion that my government has been lying to me for many years. The realization that two-party politics, the federal reserve, banking & financial, oil & energy, political action committees, special interests, the media/government complex, the defense industry and strong forces both within and outside the United States are the ones really running our “government of the people and by the people” .

This sent me on an email and discussion crusade that resulted in fractured relations with both friends and family. This bothered me greatly at the time. But I no longer care. Liberty is far more important.

To the men and women in our military I apologize to the deepest recesses of my heart for voting for politicians that have sent you to a foreign land to protect their’s and their friends interests. I admire you for your willingness to volunteer and serve for their benefit. I did and most of my family did. But, you no longer need to do that. We need you here … on this front … America is in peril and we need true Americans to stand up and fight against these enemies from within.

These 2,000,000 new friends that have joined together in the task of taking back our government will prevail because it is our destiny.

If you care about your freedom …. your liberty … your individual rights … then it is time to take up the cause.

Welcome to the fight.

Yours for America and true liberty!
