Dayton Tea Party Founder Response

The past couple of days has been an eye opener for Americans across the the United States. With the several statements that have been said by President Barack Obama, U.S. House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi, U.S. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, and others, labeling those in the Dayton Tea Party as part of the mob. We have been labeled nazis, right-wing extremists, Republican National Committee cronies, insurance company employees and FoxNews.

When I began the Dayton Tea Party, it was not for any of these groups or any of these groups' causes. I did it because I was fed up with what my government has done and is doing. In the U.S. Constitution, under the 1ST AMENDMENT, i'm given the right to petition my government. I'm an average American citizen who just chose to stand up and voice opposition. The opposition that is a liberty given to me by many American deaths and sacrifices to perserve and defend the U.S. Constitution.

To remind those officials of that remarkable document that they swore an oath to defend says: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

The statements that have been said lately about members of the Dayton Tea Party are insulting and sad. These comments prove how those in Washington truly feel about the American people and especially those American citizens who chose to exercise their liberty. We were given our liberties from our ancestors who fought and died to give all Americans those rights. Many in Washington have forgotten that and no longer defend it.

The Dayton Tea Party promotes liberty and freedom. We are currently organizing community Liberty Groups throughout the Miami Valley to support these ideals. The Dayton Tea Party advocates fiscal responsibility, smaller government, support for the free markets and small business, and respect for the U.S. Constitution. We do not support hate, but rather advocate U.S. liberty and freedom.

We must educate our family, friends, and neighbors about our goals. These our imperative times and YOU must stand up.
